A visit to the Sigmund-Freud-Museum in Vienna

The Sigmund-Freud-Museum continues to attract visitors, especially tourists seem to like seeking out this Viennese institution. Sigmund Freud, it seems, still has an appeal to people visiting this city.

Likewise, is the temporary exhibition: In accordance with the anniversary of Viennese Modernism, which is currently celebrated throughout Vienna’s museums, the Freud museum exhibits four Writers of a fin-de-siècle circle called “Young Vienna”. The exhibition “Parallel Actions” shows Felix Salten, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Arthur Schnitzler and the very central figure of the Vienna at that time: Karl Kraus. It opts to portray the parallels between them and Sigmund Freud. Even though a lot remains in the dark, one thing seems to be certain: they knew each other, shared not only a city but a similar cultural background and they read and absorbed each other’s works. Their relationships were characterized by personal distance with intellectual closeness, so the exhibition tells....
